Exercise Physiology Short Course
Elite training in movement science from one of the world’s top medical institutions.

Eight-time All-American D1 swimmer. Broken back at twenty-something. A decade lost to pain that wouldn’t leave. The work that pulled him out is now in your hands.
Five minutes with Vinny, why he built Pain Academy, what he wishes someone had told him sooner, and what the work can do for you.
Vinny was an eight-time All-American Division I swimmer. He held thirty-three Colorado state records. The pool was where he made sense of himself, a kid who knew, from before he could really articulate it, that movement was language.
When swimming ended, he chased the ocean. Surfing became the new ritual. Five days a week, sometimes six. The body was, as it had always been, a thing he could trust.
The surfing accident broke his back in multiple places. He couldn’t bend forward. Couldn’t go up the stairs of his own apartment. The athlete who’d been able to count on his body all his life was suddenly someone who had to think about every motion before he made it.
The bones healed in a few months. The pain stayed for a decade.

My son would reach up.I couldn’t bend down to meet him.
Physical therapy. Twice a week, then three. Years of it. Stretching protocols that flared the pain. Strengthening protocols that flared the pain. Imaging that found things and then specialists who couldn’t agree on what those things meant.
Medications, with their own slow architecture of dependency. Injections that helped for a week, then didn’t. Manual therapists who could turn the volume down for an hour, but never unplug the alarm.
By the metrics that mattered to medicine, bones knitted, scans stable, range of motion charted. Vinny was healing. By the metric that mattered to him, he was disappearing. He spent his twenties watching the version of himself he’d been since childhood get smaller, and quieter, and further away.
Movement-pattern therapy. Corrective exercise. The discipline of looking at how the entire body moves, not the part that hurts. None of his physical therapists had ever mentioned it. None had ever referred him to it. He had to find it on his own.
The first session, doing simple exercises he could do at home, something shifted. Not a cure. A direction. The first day in five years where the body felt like it might be on his side again.
“Something this simple. This effective. And nobody had told me about it. How many other people are spending years of their life in pain, just because nobody told them?”
“Pain was my
greatest teacher.”
He went back to school. Stacked credentials, corrective exercise specialist, exercise physiologist, holistic health practitioner. Read every paper he could find. Sat with every clinician who would sit with him.
Then he started teaching. One person at a time, in person. Then on Instagram, where the audience grew faster than he expected. Then the program, built from Los Angeles for the people who couldn’t come work with him in person. The thesis was always the same: this work is simple, it’s teachable, and most of the world hasn’t heard of it yet.
Pain Academy is what that turned into. A movement-first, nervous-system-aware, education-grounded curriculum that meets people exactly where they are. The program he wishes someone had handed him in his twenties.
The credentials Vinny stacked across a decade of looking for what actually works. Each one is a piece of the curriculum that became Pain Academy.
Elite training in movement science from one of the world’s top medical institutions.

The body Vinny once couldn’t walk up his apartment stairs in now carries him through fifty- and one-hundred-mile races. Not because he’s special. Because the work is real. Because consistent, kind, intelligent movement, paired with a calmer nervous system and a clearer mind, does what nothing else does.
That’s the promise of Pain Academy. Not because we say so. Because Vinny lived the proof.
The placement test takes about four minutes. By the end you’ll know exactly which programs are right for you, and your first 7 days are on us.
