If your pain has lasted for months or years, changes from day to day, or flares with stress, your nervous system is part of the story. This workshop teaches simple, hands-on tools to help calm a sensitized nervous system, reduce fear around movement, and give your body a chance to feel safe again.

The bigger picture

Your pain may not be just a “tissue problem.”

Most pain advice focuses on the body alone:

Your discs.Your joints.Your muscles.Your posture.Your scans.Your strength.

And of course, your body matters. But pain is always produced by the nervous system — and when pain lasts for months or years, changes with stress, or continues after tissues have healed, your nervous system may have become sensitized and protective.

Pain is real, and it is also changeable.

That does not mean your pain is fake or “all in your head.” It means your body may be stuck in a cycle of pain, fear, guarding, and sensitivity — and that cycle can begin to change.

That’s what this free workshop is about.

What we’ll do

In this free workshop, you’ll learn.

01

Why chronic pain is often about a sensitized nervous system, not just damaged tissue.

02

The difference between hurt and harm — and why pain doesn’t always mean something is wrong.

03

Practical breathing and grounding tools to help down-regulate a stirred-up nervous system.

04

Gentle movement done in a way that teaches your body it is safe.

05

How fear, stress, and guarding feed the pain cycle — and how to interrupt it.

06

How to build a simple daily practice that keeps the nervous system calmer over time.

Who it’s for

If any of these sound like you.

You have chronic or recurring pain that doesn’t fit a clear structural cause.

Your pain moves around, changes day to day, or flares with stress.

You’ve been told your scans look “normal” but you’re still in pain.

You feel anxious, guarded, or afraid to move.

You want practical tools you can use on your own, at home.

Before you commit

This is not a high-pressure challenge.

No pushing through pain.

No “just think positive” or ignoring what you feel.

No pressure to feel a dramatic result by the end.

This is a calm, educational workshop to help you understand pain differently, learn practical nervous-system tools, and begin rebuilding trust in your body without forcing it to prove it is okay.

Inside the workshop

What to expect.

You’ll be guided through a clear teaching session on how pain and the nervous system work, a set of practical calming tools, and a gentle movement practice you can use to help your body feel safe.

The goal is not to push harder or override your pain.

The goal is to give you practical tools to calm your nervous system and change your relationship with pain.

The workshop will be about 90 minutes and will include:

45 min

Education on how chronic pain and the nervous system actually work.

15 min

Practical breathing, grounding, and calming tools you can use anywhere.

20 min

Gentle movement practice done in a safe, unforced way.

10 min

Reflection, live Q&A, and how to build a daily practice.

Set yourself up

What you’ll need.

For the movement portion, we’ll be getting down on the ground to do the exercises.

Please plan to have:

  • A comfortable place to lay down.
  • A little room around you to move.
  • A quiet spot where you won’t be interrupted, if possible.
  • A yoga block or a couch or bed pillow.
  • A chair nearby, just in case you want extra support.

You don’t need anything fancy. Just make sure you have enough space to get on the ground comfortably and move at your own pace.

Vinny Crispino is the founder of Pain Academy, a former Division I athlete, and an eight-time All-American whose work with chronic pain began after a life-changing surfing accident left him with a broken back.

After years of treatments that did not give him the answers he needed, Vinny began searching for a different way to understand pain, movement, and the body. That path led him to become a Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Posture Alignment Specialist, and certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy.

Today, Vinny has helped more than 15,000 people learn how to work with their bodies in a calmer, nervous-system-informed way — without forcing, pushing, or ignoring pain.

This workshop is designed to give you practical nervous-system tools and a safer place to begin.
